Las Vegas Today

Today Las Vegas is a spectacular light show all its own. It’s a far cry from that once quiet desert oasis that was just waiting for someone to come along and recognize its beauty. Las Vegas is known as the city that never sleeps, and it’s true. Day or night, visitors and residence can be seen walking up and down the well lit strip. Lights blaze a wide array of colors across the night sky. People coming into Vegas during the night will get a surprising break from the dark vast desert that they had been driving through. Out of nowhere millions of lights appear to guide them into the center of Las Vegas.

Today when you drive down the Las Vegas strip you will see casinos for miles and flashing lights displaying advertisements and slogans. There are pedestrians packed on the sidewalks, cameras flashing, and cars bumper to bumper trying to get to their next location. The city of Las Vegas is one which is full of life and rich in entertainment. There are a number of shows to be seen on any given night. There are famous wedding chapels homed in Las Vegas and convention centers.

Las Vegas has become the hub for shopping, gambling, watching shows, concerts, and just to have a plain good time. The city has spread to include suburbs, such as; Henderson, Summerlin, and Crestwood. High rises are common place now and decorate the entire strip. Las Vegas is where people from as much as three hour away go when they need to find definite work.

Just as it once was during the depression, Las Vegas is still thriving through the latest recession.
